Here's How It Works
All you need is a clear title, and we’ll take care of the rest, including pickup, at no cost to you.
Once your vehicle has been sold, you’ll receive a receipt for your tax records. 100% of the sale proceeds will be donated to the Pro-Choice North Carolina Foundation in your name.

How does the program work?
You may complete the online donation form or call 866-628-2277 to donate your vehicle. When your information is verified, it is forwarded to a local tow company. The tow company will contact you directly to schedule the pick up of your vehicle. At the time of the pick up, the driver will give you a receipt for your vehicle. We ask that you provide the driver the keys and your appropriately signed title.
Can I only donate a car?
No! We accept all types of vehicles, including automobiles, trucks, vans, recreational vehicles, motorcycles, dirt bikes, tractors, boats, and trailers. Call 866-628-2277 for specific information about your vehicle.
As a donor, what do I need before I can donate?
- A vehicle with a clear title
- Your car keys.
Please have the title and current mileage on hand when you call or fill out our online form.
Do I pay for the towing?
No, there is no charge to you for the donation of your vehicle.
How long will I have to wait before my vehicle is picked up?
Typically, your vehicle will be picked up in 2-4 business days. The towing company will contact you in advance to schedule the pickup.
Will I receive a tax deduction for my donation?
The IRS allows you to claim a tax deduction of either the value of your vehicle up to $500 or the amount your vehicle is sold for if it sells for more than $500. Please consult a tax advisor to determine your tax benefit. For more detailed information, please visit the IRS website.
What do you do with the vehicles?
The vehicles are sold at auction to the highest bidder.
Where do the proceeds go?
The Pro-Choice North Carolina Foundation receives 100% of the net proceeds from the sale of your vehicle.
