Development Director

Toni Curry
Toni Curry has a diverse background and thirteen years’ experience in advancement. Prior to joining Pro-Choice North Carolina in 2017, she held various development positions in the School of Medicine and the Office of Government and Foundation Relations at Case Western Reserve University. More recently, she managed the major gifts and planned giving programs at The North Carolina Center for Public Television (UNC-TV). Toni demonstrates her dedication to advocacy for women’s equality through longtime affiliations with organizations that fight for women’s civil rights, personal safety, reproductive freedom and economic equality – especially for women of color, immigrants, and children.
An Ohio transplant, Toni spends much of her free time getting acquainted with North Carolina. But when she’s not trolling around the state or enjoying all the unique and exciting things to do in the Raleigh-Durham area, you can find her curled up with a good book, watching a scary movie or experimenting with new recipes.
Matt Herman is a Bessemer City, North Carolina-native who moved to the Triangle in 2013 for college. He now works on the behalf of marginalized populations in his home state and beyond. As the most recent addition to the Pro-Choice North Carolina team, Matt earned his chops as a non-profit administrator, development professional, and survivor advocate at Orange County Rape Crisis Center in Chapel Hill from 2017 to 2025.
Reflecting on his upbringing in the South, Matt is passionate about consent-based education, violence prevention, and reproductive justice. He fights for the rights of his neighbors and friends and hopes to help make way for the next generation of leaders driving our movements forward. Matt is a child of the wilderness and spends his weekends out in the countryside learning about sustainable farming practices and the agricultural industry. He is a singer and saxophonist in a classic rock cover band called 'The Lids', always inviting everyone to sing along (:
